DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!” …They say. Easier said than done right? How many of you have heard or been told that before?…and thought to yourself, “What DOES make me happy” . And those of us who may have a clue of what that magical happy life making thing IS… only to experience discouragement and doubt that keeps you from ever pursuing it.

I KNOW I HAVE! Have you? Don’t leave me hanging out there, y’all LOL. Whether it be in Love, in Profession, in your Dreams, Goals, Hobbies, Daily Activities…

There was a time when I questioned my own damn intuition. What I knew to be true for me then finding a way to self sabotage. It is STILL a Daily Act of Resistance for me. Empowering myself through every moment to ‘IGNITE MY FIYAH’!

Over time, the practice of not honoring the parts of you that make your soul sing develops a disconnect from self. This trains your Body, Mind & Spirit to disregard your emotions and your inner voice. And you begin to develop a way of surviving this life with limitations, fears, and trauma cycles.

YES, it is traumatic to live a false life. It is traumatic to lose the connection with your truth. It is traumatic to have your voice silenced. It is traumatic to allow others to dictate your own wellbeing.

PAUSE…

BE STILL…

BREATHE…..

… even typing that brought up some feelings in me

When you’ve avoided yourself for so long, even beginning or reactivating your Wellness journey can be trying. The transition of reintroducing yourself TO yourself can be a challenge. So how do we practically begin to move out of survival mode…WE START SMALL.

Small acts of ‘Self Actualization’ and ‘Truth Being’ each day creates change. Find those small moments in your day to honor your authentic self, to speak up..to express your thoughts…to say ‘NO’ when you need to and ‘YES’ when you want to…

This ultimately begins to create change, as you are unlearning unhealthy behavior and broken patterns. You are designing new habits, new routines, and retraining your BODY MIND & SPIRIT to respect, accept, love, & empower YOU.

REMEMBER, things that are foreign to us are uncomfortable and we will do anything to avoid discomfort if we’re not ready to change. BE PATIENT & COMPASSIONATE. The journey is happening as I am typing this and as you are reading this. The MOVEments are already in motion towards your NEW THRIVING, FLOURISHING LIFE.
